A good life starts with a happy stomach. At Mansions Senior Living, we know that having a good meal is one of the keys to ensuring an senior’s well-being. That’s why we continually strive to make improvements to our delicious meal plans to ensure that we always providing the best for our residents!
To that end, we’re proud to welcome Christina Eileen Milazzo, our new Executive Chef and Director of Dining, to The Mansions at Alpharetta Senior Independent Living team. Christina has been brought on to help us improve our daily meal plan offerings. Based on the feedback we’ve received from residents, there’s no doubt she’s living up to their expectations and helping us maintain our reputation as the premier retirement community in the area.
About Christina Eileen Milazzo
Christina is an enthusiast when it comes to food – she has been cooking since she was able to reach a stove. That passion for cooking has translated itself into a 12-year career in professional dining, including owning her own fine dining restaurant, Milazzo’s Ristorante, for 8 years. We are very excited that she has decided to bring all this culinary knowledge to our senior living community.
Finding The Right Balance Between Heart Healthy and Tasty
With Christina’s experience, she can cater to many different culinary palettes, and dietary needs and allergies. To ensure that all our residents are taken care of, she works hard to find the right balance between staying heart healthy without making the food bland and unappealing. While it is a challenge, Christina believes that she is up for it. She regularly communicates with our seniors to find out what they will enjoy – no matter the individual requirements.
Our kitchen also provides seasonal dishes like fresh fruit during the summer or warm, vegetable-based soups during the fall and winter. And, if residents want something more than what’s on the planned menu, The Mansions at Alpharetta also has two different menus with a large variety of dishes. There are always more options on the “Always Menu”, or you can take advantage of Christina’s dynamic menu for some custom-curated options!
What Types of Senior Meals Are Served?
It’s not easy to come up with different options each day or week. For inspiration, Christina has a collection of delectable and precious family recipes that she keeps in a shoe box – ready to use whenever she wants something new. These recipes are very precious since they were created by her grandmother, who also taught her how to cook. Like Mansions Senior Living strives to treat everyone like family, Christina brings a bit of home to each and every meal that she creates.
If you want to see sneak peek into what’s going to be on the table for you, Christina releases her menus every Saturday, and she features a resident’s recipe every week in one of the meals.
“I love getting recipes from them, and I also learn something new.”
-Christina Eileen Milazzo
If the residents have a favorite meal, Christina will add them to the menu more often. Some community favorites that have made repeated appearances include salmon, pot roast, pecan crusted tilapia and lasagna.
